Activities On the Property

Walks
You are welcome to wander across the farm itself but please make sure to close any gates you pass through. You could see a variety of our indigenous antelope including Duiker and Mountain Reebok - the most common - but we have a pair of Blesbok roaming around too. Map available in the cottage booklet.

Activities In The Area

Dullstroom has over the years grown from the “one horse town” of thirty years ago that offered a basic weekend escape for fisherman who often came on their own for a quiet fish followed by a draft and pub dinner in the famous Dullstroom Inn.  As this popular tourist destination grew, so did the type of visitor and the amenities. Now the village offers every member of the family something to do and many visitors don’t even fish!

Fishing
Dullstroom Bird of Prey Centre
If you want to teach small children to fish or have a fun filled morning with 'almost guaranteed' success, the fishing dam at the Bird Of Prey Centre is perfect. Located just before the village coming in from Belfast is a beautiful spring fed three hectare lake well stocked with Rainbow and Brown trout. Stirctly catch and release, booking at the Mavungana Flyfishing Centre. Other options as well as day fishing outings are on offer, with the assistance of a Mavungana guide. Call 013 254 0270.

Dullstroom Dams
Since September 2005 both Town Dams have been open to all members of the public - the lower dam is strictly a catch and release trophy dam. Access to the dams is through the Caravan park gate just up the road from Oaklane (you can also enjoy walks in the Nature Reserve and climb our famous Suikerboschkop mountain to enjoy spectacular views of the town. Just go to the main gate at the Caravan Park and get a permit.
