Overview

Our two 4 sleeper self catering country cottages, Peppercorn and Mustard Seed, are privately situated amongst 40 year old trees on Harmony Farm. The farm is picturesque with lovely open grassland interspersed with tree filled groves.

We also have two 6 sleeper cottages, Hatch End and Picnic. Hatch End overlooks the beautiful Bhembe dam and Picnic cottage is nestled in a Pine forest near a waterfall.

The cottages are fully serviced on a daily basis at no extra charge. The cottages are also supplied with the following:

  • all linen including towels and hot water bottles
  • cleaning materials and firewood
  • fridge/freezer, microwave and either gas or electric stove – depending on which cottage you are booked in to
  • T.V and DSTV with hotel bouquet
  • Two built-in braais (barbecue's) at each cottage - one on the veranda and one on a paved patio area in the garden
  • Security by way of controlled access through electric gates at the entrance to the farm.
  • To keep you cozy both cottages have brand new Amesti ‘slow combustible’ fireplaces in the living room

Fishing

We don't offer fishing on the farm, however there are plenty day fishing options available nearby. Please see more info on our activities page.

Servicing Of Cottages
All our cottages are serviced on a daily basis. Working hours are 08h30 to 10h00, to tidy up the kitchen, relay the fire, make the beds and clean up after breakfast. There is no extra charge for her services.

Check in and Departure Time
Check in is 2pm on the day of your arrival and 10 am upon departure. However if we do not have an additional booking for the Sunday night, you are very welcome to leave at leisure on Sunday. Please confirm with us in advance.

Security
We have electronic gates at the entrance to the farm and you will be provided with a remote with your set of house keys.  Although we have the privilege of living in a low crime area, the gate does offer greater peace of mind.

Cell Phone Reception
Cell phone reception is good, however Internet modem connectivity may be slow in some areas of the property.

Wild Fire Hazard
Please be aware of the dangers of wild fires in this area particularly in winter. They can cause immense devastation very quickly. So although the braai /barbecue is safely enclosed, please be aware that the tap and hose pipe is nearby in the garden should a spark get onto the lawn. Please phone anyone of the contact numbers if a fire is started or seen anywhere in the vicinity.

Pets
Unfortunately pets are not allowed on the property. However if you can’t bear to leave your ‘babies’ at home, then the local ‘Dog hotel’ run by Kerry and Craig Mclachlan is the next best option. The individual areas are large and grassed and each has its own kennel with a hot water bottle provided on cold nights. Dogs are cleaned prior to departure and enjoy daily country walks. You are more than welcome to visit your pooches at any time during business hours. Bookings essential – Kerry 013 254 0975 or 082 877 1541.
